The objective of this course is to increase the ability of participants benchmarked at CLB 5/6 to obtain the English language proficiency pre-requirements for common healthcare training programs by raising participants’ English language levels by one CLB level in two skills: Listening, Speaking, Reading, and Writing.  

Learners complete eight 3-week modules at CLB 6/7, working approximately 7 hours per week: 5.5 hours asynchronously via the MOSAIC Moodle LMS and 2 hours synchronously on Zoom, which include a one-hour workshop and a 30-minute synchronous 1-on-1 meeting with the teacher as needed. At the end of the course, participants take an English proficiency exam of their choice: CLBPT, IELTS, or CELPIP.
